Mark Powers – President of Atticus® has been coaching attorneys for nearly twenty years. He co-authored The Making of a Rainmaker: An Ethical Approach to Marketing for Solo and Small Firm Practitioners, published by the Florida Bar, and Time Management for Attorneys: A Lawyer’s Guide to Decreasing Stress, Eliminating Interruptions & Getting Home on Time.
Mark has served as CEO and President of a privately owned multimillion dollar company and been a corporate manager in a Fortune 500 company based in Connecticut. He has degrees in Economics and Criminal Justice and received his Masters degree from Northeastern University in Boston.
Mark Chinn – A Mississippi icon, Mark has been recognized by his peers as one of only 15 Mid-South Super Lawyers. He is a recipient of the Award of Merit for distinguished service to the Bar, is listed in Best Lawyers in America and Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers in the Field of Family Law. Mark is “AV” rated and is certified as a Civil Trial Expert by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mark has published several books and made numerous Bar Association Presentations focused around building a successful law practice. Jim Calloway – Jim is the Director of the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Management Assistance Program. He has served as Co-Chair or the ABA TECHSHOW and the first two GPSSF national Solo and Small Firm Conferences in 2006 and 2007. A frequent writer and speaker on legal technical issues, Internet research, law office management and organization and legal ethics, Jim also makes several dozen presentations a year for CLE events in Oklahoma. Jim has presented at several national conferences including American Bar Association Annual meetings, Legal Tech Toronto, Pacific Legal Tech, National Association of Bar Executives, and National Association of Bar Presidents at their annual meetings. He is a nationally recognized speaker at many state Bar Association meetings and has published articles in Lawyers Weekly USA, Law Practice Management magazine, Law Practice Today, Law Technology Today, Legal Management Magazine, Law Technology News, LLRX.com and GPSolo. Jim has recently been inducted as a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management.
William C. Cobb – Bill Cobb has been consulting to professional services firms since 1970. He has chaired PLI’s managing partner workshop for large firms from 1975 to 1980 and been a speaker for the ABA, PLI, ALA, NALFMA, AICPA, and other national organizations focusing on practice management. He has written and published books for professionals on strategic planning, partner compensation, pricing legal services, creating client-driven firms, and other critical strategic issues. Bill has also chaired the Long Range Planning Committee of the American Bar Association’s Law Practice Management Section, written their first book on the planning process and been a member of the Alternative Billing Task Force and the Beyond the Breaking Point Task Force. His counseling includes the assessment of trends in the market and positioning the firm for change, pricing and billing alternatives, firm governance, compensation, mergers and reshaping the structure for a stronger competitive position. Additionally, he has chaired two “Seize the Future” Conferences on the future of the profession.
Kamran Dadkhah – Kamran Dadkhah is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics of Northeastern University, Boston specializing in Econometrics and International Economics, Kamran will bring a unique perspective to this discussion. He has served as a Senior Economist, Abt Associates, Inc. Cambridge, Massachusetts, one of the largest and most diverse research and consulting firms in the world with a client base including the federal government, state and local governments, universities and foundations, as well as major corporations. He has also served as Senior Economist, Development and Investment for the Bank of Iran. He has published articles in The Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Political Economy, Internal Journal of Middle East Studies, Applied Economics, the European Journal of Economic Research and Decision Sciences. He has recently published a book on the Foundations of Mathematical and Computational Economics.
Thomas J. Ahrens – Tom Ahrens is a graduate of Liberty University (B.S.) and The Dickinson School of Law at the Pennsylvania State University (J.D.). Tom is also a graduate of the Esperti-Peterson Institute’s Post Doctorate Advanced Studies Program where he studied estate and business planning for high net worth families. Tom’s practice areas include: trusts, estates, business succession planning, charitable, tax, and asset protection planning.
