"For years I was skeptical about how a business 'coach' would impact my practice. I would say to myself, 'I am doing a good job. I am a personable guy. I have clients and doctors and other referral sources. My business is growing. I am involved with the attorney organizations and even some other outside organizations. What could Atticus possibly do for me? Aren't I doing everything they are espousing? Why the heck am I going to pay some guy to tell me how to run my practice? I had even read the E-Myth already. What more was there to know?'
Oh what total egomaniacal foolishness. I was killing myself. I am a worker (workaholic?) by nature and I was at the office for 18 hours a day. My vacations were limited to a few extended weekends. My children woke up with me leaving and went to bed with a phone call to my office to say goodnight. The faster I ran on my treadmill the farther I got behind. Yes, I was making money, but it was killing me.
Fortunately I went to a Palm Beach County Justice Association seminar where Mark Powers was one of the speakers. I was impressed at how well he knew my plight. It was incredible how he understood exactly what was going on in my practice.
After the seminar I called Atticus and set up an appointment. I spoke with a few of their team members and was convinced that I should attend a two day seminar in Orlando. I cleared my calendar, again to the detriment of my family time, and made time for one more work related event. Those two days helped me change my practice and my life.
Since that time we have grown the practice, set up better office systems, and run our marketing more effectively and efficiently. I do not work many weekends (you just can't escape a work weekend while in trial), we take off three weeks for the winter holiday and no less than five weeks in the summer. Over the past two years we used the Atticus system to grow our business by $2 million dollars per year.
I would ask all the Injury and Qui Tam attorneys to please avoid Atticus. The rest of you are crazy not to listen to what Atticus has to offer."
