SHAWN McNALIS - Senior Practice Advisor /
Curriculum Director. Shawn McNalis literally "wrote the book" on
the original legal marketing system for Atticus. Along with Mark Powers, she
developed and wrote both "The Rainmaker Program," the marketing
manual used by Atticus clients, as well as the abridged version commissioned
and published by The Florida Bar in 1995, entitled "The Making of a
Rainmaker." In addition, Shawn has authored a new book on time management
for attorneys. Shawn focuses her coaching on a select group of attorneys in the
Atticus Collegium and Forum programs. A former "Imagineer" for the
Walt Disney Company, Shawn brings a creative, client-centered approach to
business and marketing. During her 15-year career with Disney, she played an
important role in the opening of the Disney-MGM Studios and numerous theme park
attractions. In 1983 she relocated to Tokyo for nearly a year to supervise and
train contract employees of Tokyo Disneyland.
JR PHELPS - J. R. Phelps has served as the
director of The Florida Bar's Law Office Management Assistance Service since
its inception in 1980. LOMAS was created to provide start-up and
management assistance to the small law firms throughout Florida. During the
twenty-six years that LOMAS has existed, Mr. Phelps has conducted over 2,500
in-office consultations with law offices throughout Florida.
J. R. is a Fellow of the American College of Law Practice Management. In 2006,
he was awarded the Judge Walter S. Crumbley Award from the Practice Management
and Development Section of The Florida Bar. In 2003, he was awarded Meritorious
Recognition from the American Bar Association Standing Committee on the
Delivery of Legal Services. He has served as chair of various American
Bar Association Law Practice Management Section committees, including serving
as Liaison to the ABA Joint Committee on Lawyer Regulation. Currently he
serves on the Executive Council of the Law Practice Advisors Committee of the
LPM Section, and as Vice Chair of the LPM Section Publishing Board.
PATRICK WILSON, J.D. - Senior Practice
Advisor. Atticus recruited Patrick Wilson from the practice of law in
order to share his unique insights with other attorneys who need support in
their growth and development process. As a member of the Florida and Federal
Bars, he gained extensive knowledge while practicing with a wide range of
firms, including large full-service offices, and small boutique and solo
practice firms. As a result of his Atticus training and past litigation
experience, he is a powerful coach and speaker. Patrick graduated magna cum
laude from David Lipscomb University and earned a Juris Doctor degree from
Vanderbilt University School of Law. Following graduation, he practiced in
Orlando, specializing in Workers' Compensation and First Amendment law. In
addition to coaching, Patrick is a professional speaker on law office practice
management.
NATALIE KELLY - Natalie R. Kelly is the
Director of the State Bar of Georgia's Law Practice Management Program, which
provides extensive practice management and technology consulting to the members
of the Georgia Bar. She actively participates in the American Bar
Association's Law Practice Management section where she serves as Vice-Chair of
the Standards Sub-Committee of the Education Board; and previously served as
Co-Chair of the Education Board, Chair of the Practice Management Advisors
Committee, and on the Section's Nominating Committee, Leadership Development
Taskforce, Publishing Board, and TECHSHOW Planning Board. In the General
Practice, Solo and Small Firm Division, she has served on the GPSolo Technology
and Practice Guide Board. She is also a member of the National Bar Association,
National Association of Legal Administrators, and the National Association of
Bar Executives.
GREG BRAY - Director of Legal
Technology, InTouch Legal - Hailing from the land "Down Under,"
Gregory Bray brings 16 years of IT experience on varied computer platforms and
software systems. Gregory has been with InTouch Legal since 2001, and has
installed well over 100 accounting and practice management systems in law firms
throughout the USA. He is an internationally recognized consultant for Amicus
Attorney, Worldox and PCLaw. His passion, however, lies with Document Management
Systems. He has developed innovative processes to automate document intensive
procedures in law firms using the Worldox GX Document Management system and
customized document imaging solutions. Gregory is a Senior Consultant for
document management, document imaging and time/billing and accounting
solutions. He brings a wealth of experience in adapting the software to meet
each client's individual needs as no two firms operate alike.
GLENN FINCH - Senior Practice
Advisor. Glenn has specialized in assisting new practices and small firms
to break those invisible barriers that so often prevent them from reaching the
next level. Through the formation of new habits, practice management systems
and disciplines in client development, Glenn has assisted firms in a number of
states to double their revenues and obtain a more balanced life as a
result. Glenn graduated Summa Cum Laude from Asbury College near
Lexington, Kentucky with a degree in Psychology and Sociology. He received his
Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and is certified in
several personality assessment tools and organizational assessment for staff
training and development. Glenn is a graduate of the United States Command General
Staff College and an advisor to government agencies in both leadership and
staff development.
