“I have been familiar with your name and Atticus from reading your articles in various legal publications in Florida for several years.  Additionally, I have several friends who practice Family Law in the Orlando area that are Atticus alumnae and they said very positive things about the program.  When Glenn Gutek came and spoke to our Family Law Inns of Court as a guest of Terry Bledsoe I was very interested in finding out how our law firm (The Draves Law Firm, P.A.) could better itself with the help of Atticus.  I knew it would be a hard sell to my boss, Donna Draves (who is also my Mother) who has been practicing law for 33 years and liked things done her way.  She has until recently been a hands on solo practitioner who practiced multiple areas of law.  Glenn mentioned that there was an initial complimentary one hour telephonic session that he could do with me and my Mother that would focus on how Atticus could best help our firm. The telephonic session was in February and went well.  Glenn told us about the Practice Builder that was being held in Orlando in April and suggested we start there.  Though my Mother is the sole shareholder of The Draves Law Firm, P.A., I am the Administrative Attorney and the heir apparent.  It is imperative that we be on the same page about how to grow and advance our business.  It was a push at first to get my Mom to complete the paperwork prior to the telephonic session and the Practice Builder, but once we got there we were both convinced that the Atticus approach (if properly applied) would change our lives and our business for the better.  Though my background is in business and I read the original ‘Emyth’ in college I learned things about myself, my Mother and our firm that will help us move forward as a team.  We have committed to the 52 week program starting in October and are excited to learn (knowing we will work very hard for those 52 weeks) how Atticus will assist us in building our business.  It is amazing that in less than five years The Draves Law Firm, P.A. has transitioned from a firm without much direction to a firm that practices corporate, business, international, entertainment and family law with three committed, compassionate attorneys.  We are hopeful that with the help of Atticus the next five years will be even more amazing. 

Thank you for giving me and my Mother something to really be excited about.  I was lucky enough to sit with you at lunch one day during the Practice Builder and I told you that my 16 year old daughter says she wants to be a lawyer.  Your response was something along the lines that my Mother had an opportunity to build a ‘legacy.’  Later I told her your ‘legacy’ comment.  She got a big smile on her face and was actually speechless (the smile is not unusual, but the speechless part is very unusual).
